Greetings
from the President It is my pleasure to introduce the 2003 Annual Report of the Pine Tree State 4-H Foundation. As you know, 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. I am extremely proud of the impact of Maine 4-H on the youth and communities of Maine. |

Through
4-H, young people learn how to use their leisure time to create productive
projects that stimulate educational, economic, vocational, and social
interests. When 4-H members participate in practical activities, personal
pride and satisfaction bring about sound attitudes and constructive
values.
Although
4-H programming is focused on youth, adult 4-H volunteers are clearly
the cornerstones of the 4-H Program. We believe that strong family
relationships are built through parental and community involvement.
Adult trainings help parents and leaders better understand and communicate
with youth in their communities. On behalf of 4-H youth, volunteers, and staff across the state, thank you for all your support in 2003. |
