Program Development Grants
Program Development Grants are designed to increase the State's capacity to provide 4-H programming and resources and support new high impact, model programs.  Grants are awarded in the amount of $750 to $2,500 to support new 4-H K-12 or collegiate programs, enhancement of existing programs, development of existing programs in new geographic locations, and proposals to sustain highly effective programs. Deadlines: February 1 and July 1, 2008.

Creative Communities Coalition Grants
Thinking about doing a project to help your community? Get funding for your good work from the Pine Tree State 4-H Foundation!  The Foundation will provide up to $200 for your group to conduct a creative service project in your community (one group per project). This exciting initiative encourages you to use your creative ideas to help people, animals and the environment in your community.

Never written a grant before? Don't worry! The 4-H Foundation staff will help you work out your project questions and complete the easy application form if you call them at (207) 581-3739.  Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications meeting the criteria will be awarded grants, until the funds are expended. There is no deadline set for 2008, but apply soon to ensure the availability of funding!

Post-Secondary Education Scholarships

Wayne S. Rich, Parker-Lovejoy, Claude F. Clement, Verna Church Witter, Evelyn L Trotzky, Azure Dillon, The Gladys E. Conant Memorial Farm Credit 4-H Scholarship and the Doris Roberts, H. Lawrence, and George Lawrence Humphrey 4-H scholarships award $1,000 or $500 to qualified 4-Hers in the spring prior to entering college. 2008 applications must be received in county 4-H offices by March 7, 2008. The Foundation must receive the 2008 applications from county 4-H offices by March 14, 2008.

Note: Please do not send ribbons, trophies, certificates, etc. as part of your application.  If you are applying for an award, please send black and white photocopied versions of your portfolio to us and keep the original either at your county office or for yourself.  You are welcome to make photocopies of anything added to your portfolio, but actual ribbons, trophies, original photos, etc. should NOT be sent to the Foundation. Thank you.

Group Travel Grants
The purpose of the Group Travel Grant program is to fund global and cultural education through 4-H trips both in-state and out-of-state.  This match grant is designed to encourage a funding partnership between the Foundation, 4-Hers, their communities, and outside funders.  The deadlines for FY2008 are February 1 and July 1, 2008.  Awards can be up to $1,000.

Harold H. Brown International Travel Awards
Four $1,000 grants are awarded to 4-H youth for international travel.  Priority is given to participation in approved 4-H international programs. The deadline is March 7, 2008.

Youth Loan Program
A 2008 application form is now available online. 4-Hers may apply for up to $500 in loan funds.  The Foundation cannot guarantee that every request will be funded; for more information, please contact the Foundation at 207-581-3739.

Information for Grant Recipients
All grant recipients are required to complete and sign the Foundation contract prior to disbursement of funds. The Foundation sends a contract with your award letter stating that you have received a grant.  Please call the office at 581-3739 with any further questions.

To receive funding, grant recipients must submit a Check Request Form to the Foundation.  Funding is only given out to approved recipients.  Click here to download the Foundation Check Request Form as a Word file.  

Recipients must track expenses and send a report, including impacts and an expense statement with receipts, to the Foundation.
