Requirements

International Affairs Major and Minor

The Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs permits students to choose from concentrations in Anthropology, Canadian Studies, History, Modern Languages (French, German, or Spanish), Political Science, or Women's Studies. In their first two years, students are encouraged to complete their General Education course requirements and the core courses in the six International Affairs disciplines. Study abroad is an integral part of International Affairs. All of our majors are strongly encouraged to spend one or two semesters in study abroad.
 

Core requirements:
36 credit hours from each concentration's IA course list

  • Anthropology (6 credit hours)
  • Canadian Studies (6 credit hours)
  • History (6 credit hours)
  • Modern Languages (6 credit hours at the 300-Level or Above)
  • Political Science (6 credit hours)
  • Women's Studies (6 credit hours)

Each concentration adds its own course requirements for its IA majors
 

International Affairs Minor:
18 credit hours from each concentration's IA course list

  • Anthropology (3 credit hours)
  • Canadian Studies (3 credit hours)
  • History (3 credit hours)
  • Modern Languages (3 credit hours at the 300-Level or Above)
  • Political Science (3 credit hours)
  • Women's Studies (3 credit hours)
