BasicX 8 servo motor controller
Vantec RET411P Single Controller
To control the thrusters, we are using the Vantec Speed controller.  This particular speed controller is operated by the same signal a servo motor, so the BasicX servo motor controller is also employed.  The servo controller communicates with the on-board computer by serial connection.  Since the speed controller acts a lot like a servo motor, we theoretically have 255 speeds.  In reality there are less, but there is still a good range.  This has proved to be a very cost-effective solution.
