Progress
12/20 All first semester milestones have been completed. Our project objectives, function and scope have been redefined. Milestone six, the determination of electrical load has been completed and may be found here.
12/5 The
University of Maine has approved a green loan fund program to improve
energy efficiency on campus. The proposal for the program can be found here.
Because this program relates so closely to our project we will be
modifying our project slightly to take advantage of this opportunity.
Our milestones have changed and you can find out more about how the green loan fund will affect us here.
11/17 Milestone four, selection of electrical appliances and components has been completed. Click here to see all of the selections.
10/27 Milestone
three, design of the grey water heat recovery system has been completed. A commercially available system design by GFX was selected. To see the complete milestone click here.
10/14 Milestone
two, scope of the design has been completed. For this milestone
we took an in depth look at exactly what we would be designing during
this year's project, as well as the design criteria and objectives we
would be implementing. For more details click here
9/26 Milestone one, function of the design has been completed.
For this milestone we researched and contacted people at the
University to determine what the design criteria would be for a
replacement for University Park. For more details click here.
9/20 The VectorWorks CAD platform has been chosen for this project's CAD
needs. The program is highly regarded and widely used by
professionals in the architecture and design industry. It has
many features that make it particularly useful for building design.
9/8 The project objectives
have been established. These objectives were redefined in December of
2005 to adapt the project to a university sponsored campus energy
efficiency program. For reference the old objectives may be found here, alternatively the new objectives may be found here.
