Human Powered Submarine
Controls Development and Testing 2006-2007

2007-2008 Start-up Guide

The 2006-2007 Human Powered Submarine team faced many challenges that could have been alieviated
with the proper guide in place.  One problem, that stood out above all others was the lack of information that
was passed down from previous teams.  While all the information of the work that was done on the sub, since
it's fabrication in 2001 is documented in Profesor Mick Petterson's design webpage, the amount of information
that is gained from reading it is not useful enough to justify the time taken to gain a general overview of the task
         at hand.

Due to the time restraints of the project as well as open water for scuba certification in Maine, 2006-2007
Human Powered Submarine team would like to leave next years team with a small Guideline of vital information
that could help to jumpstart the project and make next years team even more successful than previous years.
This guideline is merely a very quick overview of paths and references that will make things go smoother, and
should not be used as a complete description. We encourage next years team to read the last two years reports
in order to effectly do their specified design work on the submarine, as there are many key works that have been                 done during those years that will dramatically effect how your tasks are met.  Good luck to the 2007-2008
Human Powered Submarine team.  The 2006-2007 team contacts are provided on the start-up guideline link above.
