| This
is a solid model of the three
mold sections used to create our prototype. These molds were
constucted of UHMW plastic because of its favorable release
characterics for cured composite materials. |
This is the solid model of the three molds placed together. The team is currently trying to implement this configuration into the last stage of the manufacturing process. |

| The
new design will incorporate Teflon bearings at each pin connection.
Teflon was chosen due to its low coefficient of friction and its
ability to perform in low temperatures. |
The track and suspension setup of the 2007 UMaine CSC competition snowmobile incorporates open window design (more openings in track for release of debris from slider mechanism) and a smaller width. |
