Vibration Monitoring of Rotating Machinery
Raul Urbina
Department of Mechanical Engineering
University of Maine, Orono, ME 04469
The purpose of this talk is to discuss the role of vibration monitoring to asses rotating machinery health condition. Today’s maintenance tools seek to give a competitive edge in the unregulated power generation market. The goal of this tool is to improve the realibility and increase the availability of the different rotating assets in a utility. It is important for the people involved in its maintenance and operation to be able to apply the best solution with limited resources. This is an
overview, which will include an introduction to the different solutions, the norms and their roles in reliability and predictive based condition programs.
