Project: Human Powered Submarine --
|
Background:The biggest barrier to successful competition of the Human Powered Submarine Competition is controlling the sub. This may at first seem counter intuitive, but in fact the situation is analogous to a fighter pilot, when wearing scuba gear and pedaling, you just cannot think enough to control the submarine! Successful competition from UMaine will require a fully automatic control system for the human powered submarine for the 2010 competition in England. This team is responsible for building and testing the control system that is based on the 2009 system and making it dead reliable. You will not succeed unless you plan on spending a lot of time testing, and success is required for a good grade and satisfaction with the end of the class. Testing testing testing. And then build a back up unit. |
