Smart Sulky

Hello,

The purpose of this project is to design a horse racing sulky for Standardbred trotters that will be the next great evolution in harness racing. The sulky will be designed to compensate for the oscillations of the horse and the sulky in an effort to allow the sulky to travel in a straighter path at a higher rate of speed.

With the end of the first year on this project, many things have been accomplished. A standard racing sulky has been modified for use as a prototyping platform, and a rudimentary test rig has been built for approximating the movements of a Standardbred harness racing horse. All the work that has been completed by the group can be found under the designs tab on the side of this page.
