The Professional Employees Advisory Council exists to encourage, facilitate and contribute to collegiality among the professional staff and administration at the University of Maine. We award professional development funds, organize professional development activities, nominate colleagues to university committees and identify and communicate with professionals regarding non-bargainable issues that are relevant to professional employment.

Outstanding Professional Employee  Award
This award is given one professional employee who has maintained the highest level of professional services and standards within their disciplines or areas of responsibility; has helped to create a better environment for employees, students, and the campus community; and has demonstrated public service through significant contributions to their field, the university, or their local community.  The Committee selects one nominee each year for a $1,000 stipend.
