PEAC Committees
Governance Committee
This committee primarily seeks ways to promote PEAC's two-fold mission:
1) To be visible and responsive to its
constituents and therefore represent all professional employees.
2) To enable the representative body of professional employees to be
fully recognized as a significant contributor to the mission of The
University of Maine.
Secondarily, this committee provides
guidance to the Board as a whole in matters of Parliamentary Procedures
and rules of order. A goal of this committee for the coming year will be
to review the Council's constitution.

Professional Development Funds Award
Committee
This committee awards travel funds to qualified professionals. A total
of $4,000 is available for this purpose.

Public Relations Committee
(formerly named "Publicity Committee")
To promote PEAC activities, distribute information and updates
frequently, maintain electronic communication including the PEAC's
website.
Membership: Sharon Buchanan
Nominations/Recruitment Committee
To actively seek professionals to serve on PEAC; will work with
Governance Committee regarding process for recruiting/nominating new
members, etc.

Professional Employee Achievement
Awards Committee
To solicit nominations and to select professional employees to receive
the yearly service awards. A member of this committee also is needed to
serve on the campus-wide recognition-retirement banquet(s) held in May.

Professional Development
Day/Workshops Committee
Plan and coordinate an annual professional development day.
