Co-Chair, 2006 Maine Water Conference
Peter Vaux is a limnologist and aquatic ecologist at the Mitchell Center. Recent research focuses on exploring landscape-level patterns in Maine’s freshwater ecosystems. This work has included a major initiative to compile and synthesize current knowledge about the biodiversity of lentic and lotic habitats in the state. He currently directs the PEARL program, an on-line forum for sharing geospatial environmental information from both aquatic and terrestrial resources. Prior to moving to Maine, his research focused on a variety of water resources issues in the Colorado River system of the southwest U.S., Central America and several other regions of Latin America.
