Student Nominations
Students will be nominated by high school principals, teachers and guidance counselors. Schools are encouraged to nominate students whose records demonstrate that they are college-bound and ready for university level work.

Although the Academ-e is designed for seniors in Maine’s public high schools, seniors who are home-schooled, in an adult education diploma or GED program, or attending one of Maine’s independent high schools are also eligible. All students nominated in these categories will be assigned to their courses of choice on a first-come first-served basis. Click here to access the Student Nomination and Consent Forms.

Costs/Scholarships
The University of Maine will continue to discount tuition by 50 percent for the three credit courses and will absorb all University-wide fees. However, the University can no longer cover the cost of the fourth credit for four credit courses. We expect the Maine Legislature's Aspirations Program through the Maine Department of Educaiton to cover the remaining 50 percent tuition of the three credit courses for students enrolled in the Academ-e. The resulting value to the student for a three credit course is approximately $800.
