Fall 2008 Billing Information

When will I receive a bill and when will the bill be due?

Bills will be mailed directly to students beginning in mid July. For students who have registered for classes for the Fall 2008 semester by August 3rd, your bill will be due August 15, 2008. For students who register for classes after August 3rd, the due date will appear on your bill. For the Fall 2008 semester, you will be sent one paper bill. After the initial semester paper bill is sent, you will be sent periodic notices concerning your financial status. To view your student account, please log into the MaineStreet portal: click the Student Self-Service link and then click the Student Center link.

What types of charges may appear on my bill?

In addition to tuition and fees the following charges may appear on your student bill; library fines, parking tickets, Cutler Health Center charges, UMaine health insurance and other miscellaneous charges.

How do I avoid a late fee?

First, check your UMaine paper bill to see what funds have been applied to your bill. After logging into the MaineStreet portal, please click the Student Self-Service link. If financial aid, a waiver or a graduate/dorm assistantship has been awarded, but is not shown on the bill; if an installment plan has been completed but is not shown on the bill; or if your bill is to be paid in part or in whole by your employer or another agency, and is not shown on the bill, such information must be entered within the Anticipated Resources area of  Student Self-Service on MaineStreet (Path: Student Self-Service / Self Service / Campus Finances /Anticipated Resources).  Charges that will be covered by anticipated aid will be deferred; however, you must list the anticipated funds in the  Anticipated Resources area of Campus Finances/ Self-Service on MaineStreet. Please pay any remaining portion of the bill that will not be covered by anticipated aid by the due date on the bill. Failure to provide this information and pay any remaining balance will result in a $100.00 Late Payment Fee and may cause the cancellation of your registration for the semester.
