Employment Opportunities

Business School studentsJobs and Internships

Students about to graduate who are looking for full-time positions or other undergraduates looking for internships or co-ops should click here to go to the Career Center Web page where they can search for on-campus and other recruiters, register, upload their resumes and find other information about employment opportunities.

MBS students must have a GPA of 2.5 in order to earn academic credit for an internship.  A GPA below 2.5 does NOT prevent any student from working in an internship position.

Employers seeking to hire Maine Business School graduates for full-time positions or undergraduates for internships or co-ops can post jobs here.

Part-time Jobs in the Maine Business School

Students interested in working primarily as assistants to faculty should come to DPC 211 to fill out an application.  The MBS prefers Maine Business School students and Work Merit and Work Study applicants but often needs students who do not have these qualifications.

Work Merit

Work Merit funds are available to academically talented returning undergraduate students with sophomore or higher standing who wish to work on-campus in an academically challenging position that will enhance their academic experience. The $1000 award will be made for the academic year. Students must have a University of Maine Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher to apply for Work Merit. Qualified students will be notified that they may apply.   Students should contact the Office of Student Employment at 581-1938 in the Memorial Union for information.

Federal Work Study

Work-Study is a Federal Aid program that provides employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students with demonstrated financial need.  Students cannot work more than 20 hours a week during the fall and spring semesters and only up to the amount of their award.  Apply through the Office of Student Employment and Volunteer Programs.

Limited numbers of Teaching Assistantships are available through the Graduate Office of the Maine Business School. Go to DPC 209 or call (207 581-1973) or contact us at MBA@maine.edu for information.

Faculty and Staff openings in the Maine Business school and throughout the University can be found on the University of Maine's Web site:  http://www.umaine.edu/hr/jobs/
