International Trips - International Exchange Program

Because business is global, we recognize the need to prepare our students to participate in world markets. Our goals are to:

  • To provide our MBA students with valuable experiences in international business, culture, economics, and politics.
  • To provide exposure to international business practices in order to prepare them for effective international management
  • To provide our MBA students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge, skills, and communicative abilities to real business situations and international environments, and to advance their own cultural understandings.

GermanyTherefore, we are offering exchange opportunties with several of our partner Universities. These semester long exchanges offer our MBA students an international immersion experience as well as the opportunity to complete a unique track in several areas.  This document details the exchange opportunities available and the information needed to pursue them.Angers

Logistics of exchange program:

  • These are intensive semester-long exchanges. Two students per term are allowed to participate in each of the partner Universities. The Office of International Programs oversees and monitors University of Maine exchange agreements.
  • Costs:  Because both Universities are partner schools, students pay the same tuition as they would at the University of Maine.  Students pay according to their residence. Therefore, if a person is a Maine resident, he/she pays 9 credits at the in-state rate; if the UM student is out of state, he/she pays at the out of state rate.   Exchange students pay for their own room and board, miscellaneous fees, books, health insurance, travel, etc.  Students are responsible for their own transportation costs. There is also a $100 study abroad fee that is assessed.  This covers orientation materials, a returned students’ reception, and full transfer credit evaluation.  It keeps the student officially “enrolled” within the UM system.
  • Application deadlines: Oct. 15 for spring semester and April 1 for fall-semester.
  • Office of International Programs: All students will need to work with this office for their exchange program.
