UMaine Employee Voucher Program:
Several University of Maine System employee bargaining units have negotiated a Voucher system where members of these bargaining units receive paper Vouchers good for 8-24 visits to any UMaine System fitness facility. Basically equivalent to Day Passes, these Vouchers are only valid for entry to the facility, not for entry to additional-cost programming, classes, services, or events. No member benefits or discounts are granted with the Voucher.
Voucher-Specific Policies:
- Vouchers are equivalent to Day Passes. One punch on the paper Voucher grants entry for all your family members who are there with you on that day… but each family member needs to have a signed waiver, and needs to be checked in separately through our system.
- Once you are in the facility you can go to any of the free group ex classes, and you can pay the drop-in fee to attend the other group ex classes.
- Voucher holders are not eligible to purchase FitPasses or rent lockers, and do not get Member rates on programs/services.
- If you already have a membership and want to use your Voucher instead, you may suspend or cancel your membership.
- Suspension: Written request required. Request must include the date you would like your membership reinstated. If you have a locker you may keep it. Depending on your method of payment, your expiration date may be extended by the same period.
- Cancellation: Written request required. You may cancel your membership with no penalty, but you will lose all membership privileges. If you have a locker, you may keep it until it expires but you may not renew it.
- The remainder of our facility and membership policies must also be followed.
Voucher Procedure:
- Go to HR and get your first 8-punch paper Voucher.
- Show the paper Voucher to our front desk staff, and we’ll assign a free Voucher Pass to you and your immediate family (spouse/partner, dependents under 23) in our system.
- Each time you visit, we’ll punch your paper voucher once, and we’ll also swipe your Maine Card through our system in order to check you and your family in on our Voucher Pass.
- Your family is allowed to use the facility whether you’re there or not, as long as they have both the paper Voucher with them, and a Photo ID. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18. Anyone visiting who is not included on your Family Voucher Pass must pay the Day Pass fee.
- Once you have used all your punches on the paper Voucher, you may return to HR for another. You are allowed up to 3 Vouchers (24 visits) total. You are not required to renew your Voucher Pass in our system after you get a new paper Voucher.
