Programs - Summer Camps - Employment

RAD Camp has high expectations of its staff.  Our goal is to provide a quality and safe environment for all campers, parents and staff. Although you will be given a general job description, it is not an exhaustive list of the job duties you will be expected to perform and the attitude you will be expected to present. You should always be prepared and willing to respond to the unexpected.

Job Descriptions

Camp Coordinator: $400/week
Essential Job Functions: Essential duties may include but are not limited to: plan, organize, and coordinate specific camp programming; assist in general supervision of campers; direct supervision of specialists and counselors; implement program curriculum and facilitate program policies, regulations, and safety concerns; attend to injuries and illnesses; assist parents with inquiries regarding program; assist with staff training; help to maintain facilities as they relate to campers and camp activities; and any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Extensive experience working with children in specific programs relating to camp; expertise in area in which applying for; experience in developing a curriculum for youth activities; strong organizational, leadership, and child management skills; willingness to establish a professional rapport with campers, parents, & administrators in an energetic and enthusiastic manner; ability to have FUN!

Camp Specialty Instructor: $325/week
Essential Job Functions: Essential duties may include but are not limited to: teaching multiple activities according to expertise; assist supervisors in planning course curriculum; attend to injuries and illnesses according to University policy and Youth Program procedures; assist parents with inquiries regarding the program; participate in staff orientation sessions and meetings as required; maintain camp facilities; and any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Prior experience working with children in an educational and/or recreational setting; must be proficient in skill area with previous teaching experience; knowledge and experience in other related activities; experience in planning and implementing a safe progressive course curriculum; willingness to establish a professional rapport with participants, parents, and administrators in an energetic and enthusiastic manner; ability to communicate effectively on multiple levels; ability to have FUN!

Camp Counselor: $300/week
Essential Job Functions: Essential duties may include but are not limited to: general supervision of multiple children with facilitating program rules, regulations, and safety concerns; greeting and supervising children during drop-off and pick-up; escorting campers to and from each program; assist program coordinator and specialist(s); plan and implement recreational activities for children; attend to injuries and illnesses; assist parents with inquiries regarding the program; maintain camp facilities; and any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Prior experience working with children in a recreational, educational, and/or large group setting; willingness to establish a professional rapport with campers, parents, and administrators in an energetic and enthusiastic manner; strong leadership, organizational, child management, and instructional skills with children; ability to be playful and cooperative with children while maintaining a supervisory role; ability to have FUN!

A supervisor will contact you to set up an interview. If you are chosen for employment with RAD Camp, a mandatory new employee orientation and training session will be held before the start of the summer.

Staff Orientation and Training

If hired, applicants will need to be certified in CPR for the Adult, Child, and Infant, as well as AED and standard First Aid.  Applications who are unable to attend RAD Camp's certification day are responsible for receiving certifications PRIOR to the first day of staff training.  

CPR/First Aid/AED Training: Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Please note there is a $30 fee, which must be paid prior to the start of training.

Mandatory All-Staff Training: Thursday & Friday, June 12 & 13, 2008.
