Mission Statement and Vision Charter
Mission Statement
The Classified Employee Advisory Council provides a representative voice
for the University of Maine classified employees. A representative voice
to engender change in which to promote knowledge, awareness, and
empowerment.
Objective/Purpose Statement
As members of the Classified Employee Council it is our purpose to
represent all classified employees of the University of Maine. We strive
to establish and maintain rapport and communication among all classified
employees, administration, and the University community as a whole. The
Council facilitates the professional and personal growth and development
of classified employees by allocating funds. These funds provide help to
enhance the skills, talents, and potential career mobility of employees
through training and opportunities. The Council also strives to evaluate
the institution's policies not governed by collective bargaining that
effect classified employees; make recommendations to the respective
administrators for revisions, additions, or deletions of current
policies; as well as to propose new policies deemed appropriate by a
majority of the Council members.
