New Science Teachers:
Are you new to science teaching (in your first 3 years) and
would like to have a mentor in the science content area you
teach? Would you like to be part of a national network
of science teachers and their mentors? Do you know any teachers
in their first 3 years of science teaching you could pass
this information on to?
The Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance has a limited
number of scholarships to support Maine middle and high school
new teachers who would like to participate in the eMSS program,
a national science mentoring program originally supported
by a National Science Foundation grant and offered through
the National Science Teachers Association.
You can learn more about the eMSS program and access the
application by going to emss.nsta.org.
If you are interested in the scholarship, please indicate
that in the narrative when you fill out the application. There
is no cost to teachers who receive the scholarships, but there
is an expectation that you will fully participate in the program.
A one page flyer, describing the eMSS program, is attached
here for your convenience.
