Building Inquiry-based, Student-driven Research
into Science and Mathematics Programs

The natural systems and cultural resources of Acadia National Park are the focus of a wide variety of research studies. Middle and high schools teachers came to Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC) and participated in the Schoodic Summer Academy, sponsored by Acadia Partners for Science and Learning and the University of Maine. The focus of the academy was on the natural ecosystems and cultural resources of Acadia National Park, which included in-depth field studies, ecosystem analysis, and creative pedagogy for science and math teachers.
