This course examined and evaluated Geometer’s Sketchpad activities that directly addressed topics in the Connected Mathematics Project curriculum. These activities were developed by Nathalie Sinclair of Michigan State University and are available through the Geometer's Sketchpad® website.
The Geometer's Sketchpad is a dynamic construction and exploration tool that enables students to investigate and understand geometry in ways that are simply not possible with traditional tools. With a scope that spans the mathematics curriculum from middle school to college, the Geometer’s Sketchpad brings a powerful dimension to the study of mathematics.
With funding from the National Science Foundation in 1991-1996, and in 2000-2006, the Connected Mathematics Project (CMP) developed a complete mathematics curriculum for middle school teachers and students. The CMP curriculum has been adopted widely across the country.
