Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Kenneth Bartlett
University of Minnesota

Kenneth R. Bartlett is Associate Professor of Human Resource Development and Chair of the Department of Work and Human Resource Education at the University of Minnesota.  Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand he graduated from Lincoln University with a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation management in 1992 before working in a variety of positions related to recreation and tourism management in both New Zealand and the United States. He then completed a master of science and Ph.D. in human resource education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign prior to commencing his academic career at the University of Minnesota in 1999.  His research program is focused on the process and outcomes of human resource development (HRD) including issues of workforce planning and education in the leisure and tourism industry.  He has conducted tourism workforce assessments for organizations, states, and national level projects.  Bartlett teaches classes on training and development, organization development and change, workforce education, as well as research methods.  He also serves as Editor-in-Chief for Advances in Developing Human Resources, a journal balancing theory and practice that spans the realms of performance, learning, and integrity within an organizational context.
