Greetings from Interim Dean Naomi Jacobs!

Welcome to our spring 2014 newsletter. At this time of year, we celebrate the accomplishments of our students, faculty and staff. Recently, we announced the 2014 CLAS Outstanding Faculty Award recipients:

Research and Creative Achievement:  Kate Beard-Tisdale, School of Computing and Information Science

Teaching and Advising: Mark Brewer, Department of Political Science

Service and Outreach: Steve Evans, Department of English

Several CLAS faculty and staff have reached career milestones for years in service to UMaine:

45 years:  Richard Blanke (History), Charles Hess (Physics and Astronomy), Jay Rasaiah (Chemistry), and Jack Wilson (English)

35 years: Susan Groce (Art), Mindy Kezis (Dean’s Office)

25 years: Max Egenhofer (School of Computing and Information Science), Pauleena MacDougall (Maine Folklife Center), and Carol Rickards (Dean’s Office)

Also, Gretchen Faulkner, Director of the Hudson Museum and an alumna of our College, received a UMaine Outstanding Professional Employee award.
