Non-Traditional Student Spotlight: Christina Pappas

Picture of Christina Christina Pappas is a Senior BFA concentrating in Printmaking. She is a commuter and non-traditional student who enjoys spending time in the Commuter Lounge. Having been originally from Suffern, NY, she has become an in-state student. After a cost-benefit analysis, she determined that moving off campus would result in a net savings every month and so she became a commuter. She is very focused on her schoolwork and is an undergraduate student working toward her goal of graduate school for Medical Illustration. The program is accredited at only six schools in North America and she hopes to be one of the few who get accepted. She also enjoys learning for personal enrichment and is planning on a summer abroad with a group of educators in either Spain or Portugal. Have you noticed groups of students hooping around campus? It’s a great way to get fit and learn a new dance style. Christina makes and sells hoops and can be contacted about the hoops at hoopcadenza@gmail.com. She also participates in Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian dance-based martial art, and will be performing in the talent show at Culturefest this Nov. 7 in the Memorial Gym. See ya there!
CALL
581-SNOW

While a decision to cancel or postpone classes will be communicated to television and radio stations, members of the UMaine community are strongly encouraged to call 581-SNOW (1-800-581-SNOW outside the local area) when there is a question about whether classes will be held.
Winter Parking
Ban/Overnight Parking

All Faculty/Staff, Commuter, and Visitor parking areas and all roadways and driveways are closed to parking from Nov. 1 to May 1 of each year between the hours of Midnight and 6AM. Vehicles parked in violation will be subject to being ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense without further notice.
