Preparing Your Car for Winter
Check or have your mechanic check the following items:
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Antifreeze
- Wipers and windshield washer fluid
- Ignition system
- Thermostat
- Lights
- Flashing hazard lights
- Exhaust systems
- Heater
- Brakes
- Defroster
- Oil level
Make sure tires have adequate tread or install good winter tires. All-weather radials are usually adequate.
Keep a windshield scraper, shovel, and maybe a small broom in your vehicle.
Maintain at least a half a tank of gas during the winter season.
Plan long trips carefully. Listen to the radio or call highway patrol for road conditions.
Take public transportation during a storm.
Dress warmly (layers of loose fitting, lightweight clothing).
Carry food and water (high energy munchies).
Drive according to road conditions and beware of black ice.
Always scrape the front and rear windows before driving.

There will be a holiday tree in the Commuter Lounge decorated with suggested gift ideas for donation starting Dec. 1. Students are encouraged to make appropriate gift donations to those in need this holiday season. Stop by the lounge and drop off your gift! |
Thanksgiving Break
The Memorial Union will be closed from Wed., Nov. 25 at 6PM to Sun., Nov. 29 at 10AM. The Commuter Lounge and the lockers will not be accessible during this time, so please plan accordingly. |
