In UMaine’s Honors College, one of the oldest honors programs in the United States, chemistry professors talk philosophy. English majors discuss theoretical physics in one breath, ancient architecture in the next. These interdisciplinary offerings draw together some 750 undergraduates in all disciplines who are interested in an in-depth, academically challenging experience. Small classes, diverse readings and lively discussions challenge and engage students in this selective program.
