Marisue Pickering, professor emerita, rejoined the department in 1998 after ten years in central administration at UMaine. She officially retired in 2006, but continues to write, meet with students, and guest lecture in the department. Her primary scholarly focus has been on interpersonal communication within the supervisory and clinical processes; she is co-editor (with Dr. Martha Crago) of Supervision in Human Communication Disorders. In addition to presenting conference papers, she has given invited presentations at institutions in the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, France, England, and Australia. Dr. Pickering's current interests include international aspects of CSD and issues of cultural diversity.
