Does the University require
lodging or meals packages? If so, must all three meals be taken in
the dining hall?
Generally, those
individuals who reside on campus are expected to eat on campus. Meal
planning is flexible to accommodate the unique needs of each group.
If a three-meal package is not
required, would you consider a breakfast/room package? If not, is
there a facility nearby where participants can obtain breakfast?
It would be possible to
obtain a breakfast/room package; also there are facilities on campus
and within five minutes from campus, where breakfast can be obtained
(see Dining Guide
for local restaurants).
A continental breakfast can be
delivered to the residence hall lounge if purchased as a group
option.
Is there a facility close
to major sessions where participants can obtain a quick lunch?
Yes, at the Memorial Union Building. Lunch
can also be purchased at the dining commons on campus.
How accessible are the vending
machines on campus?
Residence halls and the
Memorial Union Building have a variety of vending machines, which
are accessible 24 hours a day.
Can participants obtain dinner
on campus? If not, are there restaurants within walking distance?
Fast foods, deli
sandwiches, pizza, and snacks are available at the Memorial Union
Building. Vegetarian lunch and dinner meals are served seven days a
week at York Commons. The nearest restaurants are a little over a
mile from campus. (See Dining Guide) Average cost of meals on campus
(2007 prices):
Breakfast $6.33 Brunch $6.95 Lunch
$8.20 Dinner $9.86
Can arrangements be made for
luncheons, coffee services, etc., during a meeting?
