The Counseling Center welcomes your
contact. We also respect your privacy. While we welcome your e-mail, we would like you to
be aware of the following guidelines so that you may make an informed decision regarding
the best way to contact us.
E-mail is not an appropriate medium for
personal counseling. If you are a UMaine student presently utilizing Counseling
Center services, or are seeking personal counseling, please contact the Counseling Center
by calling 581-1392 or stopping by our office in Cutler Health Center.
If you wish to cancel or reschedule an
appointment, please do so by calling us at 581-1392 or stopping by our office in Cutler
Health Center. The Counseling Center is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through
Friday.
Although our staff will take all
reasonable measures to keep your e-mail private, we can not guarantee that it will remain
confidential. The University system, like many other campuses, reserves the right to
monitor e-mail transmission within its system. Therefore, a third party within the
University system may read the text of your message. If you are at all concerned
that your message may be read by someone other than the person to whom you are sending it,
please use an alternate method of contact.
The Counseling Center will respond only
to the address from which the e-mail message is sent. If others utilize that e-mail
account, and you are concerned that they might read your message, please utilize a more
private account or contact us in a different manner.
While we check our e-mail often, staff absences due to illness,
vacation, and other reasons may delay receipt of your message. If you have time concerns,
you may wish to consider calling the office instead.
If you are a student in crisis, please contact us by phone.
Regular Business Hours: 581-1392
After Hours: Public Safety, 581-4020
or dial 911
We hope these guidelines are helpful in determining the best way to
contact us. If you could like to contact one of us via e-mail, please click on a name to
