Pre-Doctoral Internships

The internship training program at the Counseling Center is well-respected nationally, with as many as 50 to 75 graduate students applying each year for our three internship positions. Because interns come from a variety of universities and professional schools all across the nation, our Center is enriched with new ideas and fresh energy every year. The intern program includes a variety of case conferences and training seminars, taught by our staff, which cover a number of important topics for psychologists-in-training: clinical issues (including psychopharmacology), group therapy, career, consultation, diversity issues and supervision are some examples. In addition, each intern receives weekly, in-depth individual and team supervision. While close supervision is an essential part of doctoral-level training, it also insures a high quality of clinical care for clients.

As a member of APPIC we use the APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (AAPI) Form and participate in the APPIC matching program. The AAPI Application Form is available from the APPIC Web Site.
