Crossborder Workshops

Training tomorrow's environmental and agribusiness professionals requires exposure to trends in the international aspects of environmental management and business. With support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Resource Economics and Policy of the University of Maine is working with universities in Quebec and Atlantic Canada to provide students this international experience.

We are developing international components for existing courses, new international courses, a departmental concentration in International Environmental and Agribusiness Management, and cross-border study programs with the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Laval University and the University of New Brunswick. The Maine International Trade Center (MITC), Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC) and The University of Florida are partners in the project.

News:
Professor George Criner of the Department of Resource Economics and Policy at UMaine addressed the participants of the Maine-Quebec trade mission (February 12-14, 2004) in Quebec City.

The Summer 2004 Workshop was held on June 20, 2004, in Halifax.
