Faculty of Administration, UNB-F The Faculty of Administration offers two forms of internship type experiences to undergraduate students. The first such offering is an elective 3 credit hour course that involves 80 hours of work for an organization in one academic year. Students are normally not paid for internship work. This course requires work on a specific project that is evaluated for academic assessment. Enrolment is subject to placement availability and currently is limited to four subject areas: accounting, finance, marketing, and human resource management. The subject area specification will be noted on the student transcript (e.g., ADM 4895 Internship in Human Resources). Students interested in this course or any other Faculty of Administration course offerings should contact an undergraduate program advisor for additional information (jmacloon@unb.ca). The second internship type offering is a Co-operative Education (Co-op) program that is offered to academically qualified students who have completed one year of study. Co-op is practical education that extends the learning process beyond the classroom into the workplace by alternating academic study terms with paid periods of career related work experience. Each work term is a 4-month session. Students normally apply for entry into the Co-op program during their second term of study; however, more senior University of Maine students are encouraged to apply because late entry into the program may be possible. Admission to the Co-op program is competitive and several requirements must be maintained. Also, a work term fee will be charged for each 4-month work term registered. Students interested in this program should contact Valerie Whyte (vwhyte@unb.ca), the Faculty of Administration's Co-op Coordinator, for additional acceptance criteria and details regarding the requirements of this program.
