College Success Programs

College Success Programs (CSP) is the home of the University of Maine's Onward Program, Student Achievement Grant for Education (SAGE), Transitions Program, Tutor Program, and Disability Support Services, as well as the University's CLEP testing services. CSP is a unit of the Division of Lifelong Learning.

Onward and Transitions offer alternative ways to enter the University of Maine. SAGE, Tutor Program, and Disability Support Services provide support to a wide array of students to assure their successful completion of a bachelor's degree.

CSP News Transitions welcomed 44 new students in the Program's second cohort. Peer advising is an added service to students this year. Forty-five new Onward students completed a week-long orientation and have begun their college careers. Tutor Program has a new assistant coordinator! Jessica Bishop, who received her master's degree from the University, began on August 1, 2008. Welcome, Jessica! Jerry Ellis, friend and former director of the University of Maine College Success Programs, undertook a 4,300 mile cross-country bicycle trip and raised money for the Jerry Ellis Scholarship Fund, to assist first generation and lower income University of Maine students.
