Nurse Triage Services
Nurse Triage refers to the process of matching services available to the patient's needs. Triage nurses can answer your questions online through RelayHealth or over the phone. Nurse Triage services support acute same-day appointments/services.
Same-day Appointment Requests
Cutler Health Center, like many other non-emergency medical facilities, holds an open number of limited, same day appointments for acute cases. These appointments are provided based on medical necessity as determined by our Nurse Triage evaluation. There are two options available for students to request a same day appointment.
RelayHealth Request: Students are encouraged to request a same day appointment
prior to 9:00 a.m. through our secure online communication service RelayHealth.
Submit an appointment request with a completed Web visit and a nurse will review
to determine the urgency. You will receive a RelayHealth notification from Cutler
Health Center staff of the status of your request prior to 9:00 a.m.
Phone Request: Students may call the Health Center to request a same day appointment after 9:00 a.m. Be prepared to provide the necessary health information pertinent to your condition. Your request will be forwarded to the on-call nurse who will return your call within the hour. Call 207.581.4000 Mon thru Fri 9:00 AM - 4PM.
Walk In Appointment Requests
Students who walk in requesting same day appointments will be required to complete a nurse assessment form. This process will result in an evaluation by the nurse who, depending on your symptoms and availability of services, will discuss and determine the next step of care, which may result in one of the following:
• Same day services provided by Cutler Health Center
• Future appointment for services at Cutler Health Center
• Referral to a local off-campus medical facility. Transportation is offered by Cutler
Health Center through a local taxi service at no cost to the student.
Students are encouraged to request a same day appointment through RelayHealth.
