Campaign Maine - Case Summary
"Campaign Maine is all about
people, opportunity and impact-and about ensuring that UMaine, the
'College of Our Hearts Always,' flourishes for centuries to come."
~ President Robert A. Kennedy, Ph.D.
In 2005, the University of Maine Board of
Trustees approved the University of Maine's request to move
forward with its most ambitious philanthropic endeavor to date.
Campaign Maine is a six-year comprehensive campaign with a minimum
private support goal of $150 million to fund the strategic
priorities of the University. These include increasing scholarship
aid for Maine students, enhancing the endowment for faculty
professorships and chairs, establishing endowed excellence funds
and restoring legacy buildings and learning environments.

All gifts and pledges received by the
University between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2011 through any of
its
fundraising partners will count as part of the campaign.
Potential donors are encouraged to work with
their advisors and University resources to guarantee that their
philanthropic priorities help advance UMaine's educational
mission.
