The
Office of Research and Economic Development acts as a liaison between
business, industry, and the University of Maine. ORED's Department
of Industrial Cooperation (DIC) provides access to the people, skills,
equipment, and facilities necessary for problem solving and research
and development to more than 125 companies in many different industries.
DIC helps UMaine achieve its goals of research and public service,
while avoiding conflicts of interest with the private sector and
ensuring that the University is compensated for private use of its
state-supported resources.
DIC
supports Maine companies by coordinating:
Problem
Solving
Prototype Development
Pilot Production
