V-notch weirs at Bear Brook Watershed

The weirs at Bear Brook Watershed are concrete bulkheads with a V-shaped opening of fixed dimension cut out on the top edge.  The weirs are installed such that the stream water is routed through the notch allowing stream flow rates and volumes to be accurately measured.
