conducted over the internet for grades K-3, 4-6, etc. Throughout the
year,
different math problems are given to the teams to be solved. The
problem
solving is conducted in pairs of teams--with each team coming
from
different schools, different parts
of the country, or from different countries all together. Each
team
consists of 4 students and a faculty advisor. Prior to embarking on
a
joint challenge, teams exchange information--who they are, where they
live,
what they like to do, etc. Once the problem is given out, they
discuss
their approaches over the Internet in order to arrive at final
answers.
