GETTING "AROUND" ECEOL-L: LISTSERV COMMANDS
ECEOL-L is an electronic mailing list that operates using LISTSERV
software. The computer
ECEOL-L runs on is a University of Maine System computer. ECEOL-L
subscribers send email to
this computer. The computer emails each message received to all
subscribers. The ECEOL-L listserv
was started in March 1993.
If you are an ECEOL-L subscriber and you want to send a message to
the ECEOL-L
mailing list, you send the message to: ECEOL-L@Lists.Maine.Edu
****LISTSERV commands like Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Review, are
sent to the
LISTSERV address. They should NEVER be sent to the ECEOL-L mailing
list
address, as this creates unnecessary mail for ECEOL-L subscribers.

Just getting started with the ECEOL-L LISTSERV? Some suggestions
for success....
*Carefully consider and review your post before you send it. These
discussions are
quite "public" and once you send your message, it is
irretrievable.
*When replying to the list, do not include the entire message you
are responding to.
When it is necessary, "cut and paste" the pertinent quote from the
previous post and add
your comments.
*Don't ask LISTSERV members for information that can be easily
found from other sources.
Preferred: Ask questions that are carefully worded and ask for
specific information that
taps the expertise and knowledge base of subscribers.
*You do not have to talk to the whole list to answer a question.
You can have a private
conversation if you prefer by looking up the individual's email
address and writing to
them directly.
