The College of Education & Human Development


Welcome to the College of Education and Human Development. We prepare teachers and other specialists to apply research-based knowledge and field-tested experience to address the changing needs of schools, children and families. Undergraduate majors, with an array of academic specialization options, are offered in Elementary and Secondary Education, Kinesiology and Physical Education, Athletic Training, Child Development and Family Relations, and Early Childhood Education. The College offers graduate study at the Master's, Certificate of Advanced Study and Doctoral (Ed.D.) levels. Our educator preparation programs are fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and approved by the Maine Department of Education. As the home of statewide, regional and national research and professional development programs, our teaching and learning are timely, relevant and constantly informed.
