Teacher Candidacy eFolio
for Students
Majoring in Elementary and Secondary Education, KPE Teaching/Coaching,
and Early Childhood Education
In their second year of study students apply
for
Teacher Candidacy by
submitting an electronic portfolio (eFolio), using NoteShare software, reflecting
their work to date. This initial portfolio must include:
• a transcript of academic work showing a grade
point average of at least 2.5 (C- or greater in the core education classes: EDB
202; EDB 221; CHF 201 - Elementary only; PSY 224 or CHF 433 - Secondary only;
KPE 262 - Teaching/Coaching only)
• an analysis of self-initiated field experience with children or adolescents
• documentation of passing the
Praxis I examination.
The portfolio becomes major documentation of a
student’s professional development as an aspiring educator over the next two
years. Portfolio guidance is available from the
Advising Center.
