Literacy for Young Learners
This professional development program is appropriate for
all educators with an interest in exploring the crucial role oral
language plays in literacy learning. Particular attention will be
paid to the ways in which teachers effectively support students who
exhibit delayed language development.

You'll Reach Every Reader When You Differentiate Instruction
Participants will be engaged in understanding whole-class
differentiated reading instruction. Robb will discuss the importance
of establishing learning routines before implementing a unit of study,
estimating student's instructional reading levels, and finding enough
books to offer students choice. Audience: Grade 5-9 teachers.

Educational Leadership Cohort
Downeast Maine (Machias area) . . . starting Fall, 2009
The cohort experience and Master's degree are well
suited for teachers who would like to gain an enhanced knowledge
of leadership in schools and their capacity as teacher leaders. It
is also very appropriate for those who would like to begin the process
of earning administrative certification. The cohort will begin with
a series of three classes that are foundational to school leadership
and also lead to certification as Assistant Principal. If sufficient
interest exists these will be followed by a longer sequence leading
to a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
