Mid-Coast Superintendents Association Partnership
[-Back to Research & Resources-]

The Mid-Coast Superintendents Association Partnership is an action-oriented regional collaborative comprised of 17 schools districts from Searsport to Bath, and the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. A major achievement is the development and piloting of a standards-based alternative initial certification process for conditionally certified educators and other professionals aspiring to be teachers. The Mid-Coast Academy for New and In-Place Educators (M.A.I.N.E. Project) represents a paradigm change in the traditional degree-based certification process and is a statewide model for school districts struggling to find, certify and keep qualified teachers.
