National Youth Sports Program
[-Back to Research & Resources-]

The National Youth Sports Program conducts an award-winning educational, personal growth and skill-building program for economically disadvantaged youth. The program is sponsored in partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and offers summer learning opportunities for hundreds of area youths.

Regina KennewayMaine will be represented for the first time on the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) calendar, thanks to the creativity of an Old Town teenager who attends the summer camp at the University of Maine. Regina Kenneway’s artwork, which won one of 12 spots on the 2005 calendar in national competition, reflects both her talent and her enthusiasm for the program and its sports and educational offerings.

Kenneway’s entry was entered in the national contest after winning first place among more than 200 local submissions. The 12 national winners, selected from approximately 80,000 national entries, will be featured in the calendar, and the artwork of the grand winner – yet to be named – will also become the official design of the 2005 NYSP T-shirt.
