IntroductionThe purpose of this
plan is to identify all significant hazards from fires,
explosions, releases of hazardous materials (Including hazardous
waste and radioactive material) or other significant emergency
that pose a threat to the employees, students, visitors, and
property of the University of Maine and the citizens and property
of the surrounding communities. This plan is designed to:

Assist in our efforts to prevent incidents before
they occur;

Lessen the effects of any incident that occurs;

Outline emergency response capabilities, methods
and procedures;

Provide a list of resources available for
assistance during emergencies and;
-
Establish a recovery system in order to return the
University to normal operation.
