SCHOOL OF NURSING
Available immediately, the University of Maine, School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in our expanding undergraduate nursing programs. Applicants must have academic and experiential qualifications to teach psychiatric mental health nursing. Responsibilities include: teaching, academic advisement, participation in School and University committees and scholarship. Opportunities exist for collaborative research with Acadia Hospital; the first psychiatric hospital in the nation to achieve Magnet status.
Substantial progress toward completion of a doctoral degree in nursing or related field and a Master of Science in Nursing are required. An earned doctoral degree in nursing or related field is preferred. Successful applicants must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
The University of Maine is the flagship campus of the seven campus comprised University of Maine System. The School of Nursing offers CCNA accredited BSAN, RN to BSN, and MSN programs.
The University of Maine is located one hour from the beautiful Bar Harbor area and Acadia National Park and approximately the same distance to skiing and remote hiking areas. The area provides a pleasant, safe, and affordable living environment. Extensive cultural activities are available at the Maine Center for the Arts and the greater Bangor area.
