Assessment trip to Dulce Nombre (Spring Break 2008)
 
This trip involves:
    - Evaluation of their current water situation
    - Investigation of technology currently in place
    - Interaction with the host community
    - Conducting a baseline health assessment
 
A health assessment is extremely important.  The health assessment allows for a benchmark to determine if the project was successful and if it improved the quality of people’s lives.  It is also useful for determining future statistics on how much the project helped the community.
 
Community Need’s
    Consistent drinking water supply
        - Treatment of Water supply (bacterial, microbial, sediment)
    Sanitation
        - Waste Water Treatment
        - Minimizing mosquito breading areas
 
Resources in Dulce Nombre
    - Existing relationship with the University of Maine
    - Residents willing to contribute labor
    - Local Materials
