Spatial Distribution of DWD
Lance Case and Bob Wagner
This work will evaluate the influence of skid-trails and harvest gaps on the spatial distribution of DWM volume. Pre- and post-harvest inventories of DWM will be used to create spatially-explicit DWM volume surface maps. Differences between the surface maps indicate changes in volume at each plot, which are then interpolated throughout the research area to generate a new surface map (Figure 4.1). Skid-trail and gap layers will be added and evaluated for direct or associated sources of change.
